Real Kevin | One-sheet

Biography:

Real Kevin has been a formidable constant in the Southern Ontario music community, though their reach is rapidly outgrowing the provincial borders. The power trio has cultivated a signature sound through a deliberate fusion of garage rock, post-punk, and grunge—a stylistic "recipe" that has earned them a reputation for high-energy live performances that balance raw sonic intensity with a melodic finesse. It is a sound built on the foundation of their 2021 16-track double album, Ninety Four, which first showcased their ability to pivot between airy indie-rock and heavy, distorted grunge energy.

Currently, the band is operating at their highest momentum to date, driven by a series of independent releases that have successfully broken into the international market. Their single "April" has surpassed 8,000 Spotify streams and 25,000 YouTube views and listens, a success that prompted a special vinyl release alongside the hard-hitting track "Way." Not far behind is the standout "Dynamite Hut," which has become one of their most popular tracks to date. Together, these releases have secured significant airplay on college radio stations across North America and earned international rotation as far as South America, signalling a burgeoning global interest in the band’s aesthetic.

This international traction is fuelling an ambitious new chapter. The band is currently preparing for the release of their new EP, Tournament, which will be available on vinyl as a nod to their dedication to physical media. In a bold parallel project, they are also set to release a standalone, high-octane reimagining of Kylie Minogue’s "Can't Get You Out of My Head," translating the pop classic through their signature heavy-rock lens.

That versatility has been proven time and again on major stages. After making waves as semifinalists in the 97.7 HTZ-FM Rock Search and performing at the Cicada Music and Arts Festival, the band reached a career milestone in 2025. By winning the Road to the Sound of Music Showcase, Real Kevin secured a featured performance at the Sound of Music Festival in Burlington. These highlights, alongside a standout Canada Day set at Lakeside Park and an invitation to perform for the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fundraiser, solidify their status as a premier live act. With every new release and international radio add, the momentum continues to build, reinforcing Real Kevin’s mission to be a band for everyone while proving that their best work is still on the horizon.
